Physics Fun

The Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library is having a “Physics Fun” program for Tweens and Teens (Ages 10 and up) on Thursday, June 7th at 3:30pm.  Tweens and Teens can pre-register to come explore and build a battery operated all-terrain vehicle using a physics fun kit.  *Pre-registration is required by phone (914)939-6710 x108 or in person, beginning Monday, May 14th.  

Meet Author Nathan Eckel

Nathan Eckel will discuss his book The Rose of Antahs, a fantasy epic following the life of Princess Malahaady, the sole heir to the desert sultanate of Antahs. Beautiful, naïve, and headstrong, she believes she should succeed her father without marrying. But when her father’s health rapidly declines, she finds that ruling is not as easy as she had expected. Nathan loves reading and writing literary, science fiction, and fantasy stories. He has been published in Nebula Rift and Avalon Literary Review. He lives in Westchester with his wife, daughter, and pet rabbits.

Bobby Lewis: The Man, the Method and the Mission tells about Robert Lewis, an original member of the Group Theatre and co-founder of the Actors Studio. He is considered one of the most influential acting teachers of the 20th century. Among the many high-profile actors that studied with him are Marlon Brando, James Dean and Meryl Streep. John Fotia was born and raised in Port Chester. He is a co-founder of the Port Chester Council for the Arts and has directed and acted in numerous plays and musicals throughout the country. He received his early training at SUNY Albany, where he first studied with Robert Lewis.

Winter Storytimes at the Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library

Signups for the “2018 Winter Storytimes at the Port Chester/Rye Brook Public Library” begins on Monday, January 8th by phone (914)939-6710 x 108 or in person.  The following programs will be offered:

Sing, Dance and Have Fun with Dawny Dew

Babies, toddlers and preschoolers will sing songs and rhymes, listen to stories and meet puppets Sonny, Goo Goo and Gaga.  This program will be held at 11:30am on Mondays, March 5th, 12th & 19th; April 2nd, 9th, 16th & 23rd; May 7th, 14th and 21st.  No pre-registration is required. Singalongs with Chloe

Babies, toddlers and preschoolers will have fun with songs, instruments, bubbles & more! This program will be held at 9:30am on Tuesdays, March 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th; April 3rd, 10th &   24th; May 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th.   No pre-registration is required.
