Coronavirus Update from Mayor Paul Rosenberg

Dear Rye Brook Residents:

Tomorrow, another work week begins with many of us working form home, including our students who now find themselves adjusting to remote learning. I wanted to take a moment to thank the vast majority of Rye Brook residents who have heeded our call to institute social distancing.

As the number of Village residents who have contracted Coronavirus continues to rise, I ask that you re-double your efforts to maintain at least a 6-foot distance from other people. The Village is doing everything we can to promote social distancing:

We’ve closed the basketball courts by removing the rims.
We’ve closed the playgrounds.
Today, we closed the tennis courts and baseball fields.
Unfortunately, there are things that we just can’t control. Whether its walking through the parks or in the street, please keep your distance from each other. I love the fact that there are more people than ever out walking and bike riding. We’ve all probably met some neighbors that either we haven’t seen in a while or didn’t know at all. While that’s great, please keep your distance. If you see the ice cream truck around town (which you shouldn’t anymore after today), please don’t let your children congregate near the truck.

Today, I attended an incredible video conference which was conducted by a Rye Brook doctor. He was kind enough to answer people’s questions about Coronavirus. A great way to learn about some of these functions is to look at the Rye Brook Residents Facebook page.

I hope you have a good week ahead. We’re all still getting used to this new normal. I will continue to update you via email and phone blasts. If you know of people who aren’t signed up for the Village email blasts, please tell them to go to www.ryebrook.org/alerts . To contact me directly, please email me at mayor@ryebrook.org .

Thank you and I’m sure that we will all get through this together.
