Holiday Home Decorating Contest!
As the holiday season is upon is, we are inviting members of the community to participate in our first “Holiday Home Decorating Contest”. We had so much fun with our Halloween Home Decorating Contest that we wanted to extend another fun opportunity to you during the December holidays. All those wishing to participate must register by emailing erotfeld@ryebrook.org with your family name and address no later than December 16th. The prizes will be awarded on December 18th.

The following are the four (4) categories that will be awarded prizes, with two (2) prizes awarded in each category:

Through a Child’s Eyes – Remember how you viewed the holiday season as a small child? How do you think children today view the holiday season? Let’s see that vision shine through with your holiday theme.

Traditionally Elegant – The Traditionally Elegant home should be just that… “elegant”. Use your imagination and creativity to present a truly elegant display.

Creative Inflatables – There are really terrific inflatables today – show us how you can create a fun holiday scene with your inflatables.

The ‘Clark Griswold’ Award”: – You guessed it…the ‘Clark Griswold’ Award will go to those homeowners who believe there can never be enough decorations and bright lights despite their annual December electric bills. Go crazy!

We look forward to visiting your holiday homes (at a safe distance of course)!  Award winners and locations will be posted through the village’s social media so everyone can tour these festive Rye Brook homes during the holidays.

Gingerbread House Making Online Contest:
Judy Klein, Chair of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee and a local “Gingerbread House-Making” hobbyist, will be leading a virtual class on making gingerbread houses.  Starting December 7th, residents of all ages can register for this program here through Rye Brook Recreation ($15.00 ea.) and then pick up their Gingerbread-making kit from the Recreation Department.  Judy’s live, interactive class will be held on Saturday, December 12th at 10:00a.m. and will include many tips and tricks for making fun houses.  It will also be recorded for future viewing.  Residents are encouraged to personalize their gingerbread houses and email pictures of the houses along with their creators, to Janice Kunicki at jkunicki@ryebrook.org by Dec 15th to be eligible to win a prize for the best gingerbread houses.  Award winners will be posted on social media and prizes will be awarded for different age categories.
